Dr. Carol C. Cox (R) accepts grant award
from Phyllis Krambeck (L), member of the Vivian J. Roller Family
Endowment - - 2/28/2008.
In accepting the grant, Dr. Cox stated Missouri has been
categorized as one of the ‘Dirty Dozen’ U.S. states with the
poorest performing nursing homes. According to Consumer’s Union,
state agencies responsible for oversight often fail to correct
problems.
Therefore, Eta Sigma Gamma researchers will conduct a study to
examine what factors possibly affect lower quality care in
Missouri long-term care facilities.
Eta Sigma Gamma, National Professional Health Science Honorary,
is designed specifically for professionals in health
science/health education anywhere in the U.S., as well as other
nations. Their primary purpose, since its inception in 1967, has
been to further the professional competence and dedication of
individual members of the health science profession. The ideals
of ESG are teaching, research and service. The Honorary members
perform health education, research and service projects for the
campus and community. Projects are all long-term, professional
and meet the needs of community members of all ages.
Dr. Cox and Eta Sigma Gamma members have published many articles
and studies in professional journals.
Let us give back to those who have given us so much by
ensuring that their golden years are some of their best years.
